The Lucky Ones (2008) Movie Review

The Lucky Ones is a wonderfully written, directed and acted film. A trip home from the Iraq War chancily brings three U.S. soldiers together for a journey across the country and through their lives. The lives of the ones they left remaining at home have changed more than the three expected. They will face challenges we all can relate to while the view from a soldier's eyes is very enlightening for those who have not served. Each has their own issues, physically and mentally, and come from different places and times in life. Their camaraderie and care for each other (once strangers) is very uplifting while on this short journey together.

This movie provides an interesting look at what soldiers endure when they come home after serving a long tour; showing that sometimes the most unexpected things, however short, come together to shape our lives.

8 out of 10 - Highly recommended for all audiences. Rated R
